Insights

Overview

Insights is the platform's personal analytics view. It gives each user a snapshot of how their collection is growing and how their social activity is performing, across three time horizons: the last 7 days, the last 30 days, and the last 12 months. All data is calculated automatically and is always current — there is nothing to configure or edit.

Metrics

Insights cover two categories of metrics.

Engagement metrics — based on activity on the user's posts:

MetricWhat it measures
LikesLikes received on the user's posts
CommentsComments received on the user's posts
ChainsTimes the user's posts have been chained by others
FollowersUsers currently following this user

Collection metrics — based on the user's cards:

MetricWhat it measures
CardsTotal number of cards in the user's collection
CostsTotal net acquisition cost across the user's collection
CategoriesTotal categories in use, with a breakdown of how many cards belong to each
ShowroomsNumber of showrooms that include at least one of the user's cards

Each metric reports a total count plus three time-series breakdowns:

PeriodGranularityLength
WeekOne value per dayLast 7 days
MonthOne value per dayLast 30 days
YearOne value per calendar monthLast 12 months

Business Rules

  1. Insights are read-only — they are calculated from existing platform data and cannot be edited or deleted.
  2. A user can only view their own insights; cross-user access is not supported.
  3. Engagement metrics are scoped to the user's own posts: likes, comments, and chains are counted only on posts the user owns.
  4. The followers metric counts users currently following the insight owner.
  5. Collection metrics are scoped to cards currently owned by the user.
  6. The costs metric sums the net acquisition costs recorded across all owned cards.
  7. The category distribution shows how many cards belong to each of the user's categories.
  8. The showrooms metric counts distinct showrooms that contain at least one of the user's cards.
  9. Each time-series breakdown is relative to the moment the request is made — the week series covers the 7 most recent days, the month series the 30 most recent days, and the year series the 12 most recent calendar months.

Constraints

  • Insights require authentication. Unauthenticated requests are rejected.
  • All metric data is scoped to the authenticated user — it is not possible to retrieve another user's insights.
